2024-2025
We had a strong start to the year and continued with excellent performances. We kicked off the season by winning the inaugural Romanian Supercup with a golden goal after a 3–3 draw in regular time. Next, we triumphed in the Romanian Cup Final Four in Sfântu Gheorghe, defeating Corona Brașov 3–0 in the final. In the Romanian national championship’s Final Four, we once again played for gold—and won it, beating our biggest rivals, Corona Brașov, 2–1.
Gyergyó Hockey Club made history three times in one season. We claimed the first-ever Supercup, won the Cup for the first time, and became national champions for the first time as well.
In the Erste League, we entered the playoffs from second place. We first defeated DVTK Jegesmedvék in a 4–1 series, followed by another 4–1 victory over Corona Brașov in the semifinals. The final was against our long-time rivals, SC Csíkszereda. We won the first two games, then they equalized the series, but from there, we showed our strength once again. After winning Game 5 in Gyergyószentmiklós, we lifted the trophy on the road.
This meant that Gyergyó Hockey Club won every possible trophy in the 2024–2025 season. Our success was no coincidence—the numbers speak for themselves: this season we defeated Corona Brașov eleven times and SC Csíkszereda ten times.

2023-2024
We entered the Erste League playoffs in 3rd place and advanced past Újpest with a 4–0 series sweep. In the semifinals, we once again faced Corona Brașov, but that year they proved to be the stronger team and moved on to the final. Based on our performance in the regular season, Gyergyó Hockey Club was awarded the bronze medal.

2022-2023
The 2022–2023 season was a milestone year for Gyergyó Hockey Club. Under the leadership of head coach Zoltán Szilassy, we remained in contention for the top spot in the Erste League regular season until the very end, ultimately securing second place heading into the playoffs.
In the postseason, we first swept Dunaújváros with a 4–0 series win. Next came a dramatic semifinal clash with Corona Brașov, which went down to the wire. After a tense battle, we emerged victorious with a 4–3 series win, earning our place in the final.
The championship series against FTC-Telekom was equally intense. We had to fight back from 0–2 and then 1–3 deficits, showing incredible resilience. In a thrilling Game 7 on home ice, we won 2–1—crowning Gyergyó Hockey Club as Erste League champions!

2021-2022
That was the season when we came truly close to reaching the Erste League final for the first time—but the pandemic intervened. In the first round of the playoffs, we swept Corona Brașov, then faced Ferencváros in the semifinals. After the two games in Budapest, the series was tied 1–1, but by the time we returned home, we could only put a severely depleted team on the ice, playing out of sheer determination. By Game 4, we no longer had enough healthy players to continue, and we were forced to forfeit the series.

2020-2021
In the 2020–2021 season, we truly felt the absence of our fans, having to play in empty arenas throughout the entire year. We made it to the playoffs, but our journey was cut short in the quarterfinals by SC Csíkszereda.

2019-2020
In the unfinished 2019–2020 season, we reached the top four in the Erste League, eliminating Corona Brașov and, for the first time in Gyergyó hockey history, playing in the semifinals for a chance to reach the final. However, the pandemic prevented the completion of the series. Despite this, we were awarded our first-ever bronze medal.
In the Romanian Cup, we reached the final, and we also claimed victory in the Gyilkos Lake Cup.

2018-2019
In 2018, our team joined the Erste League. The goal for the 2018–2019 season was to reach the playoffs—and we did just that. We then faced DEAC in a hard-fought, seven-game series for a place in the semifinals, but in the end, the more experienced side advanced.
In recent decades, red and white colours and the bear in our crest have become closely associated with Gyergyó hockey. These symbols have become part of our tradition—they represent who we are. Gyergyó Hockey Club belongs to everyone who lives in Gyergyószék, and to all those whose hearts are tied to this place, no matter where they may be.

Gyergyó Hockey Club is a shared value that fills the ice rink not only at home but also draws hundreds of fans to our games in Budapest and other Hungarian cities, with many traveling hours to be there. Countless others around the world gather in front of their screens to watch GYHK play, feeling a little bit of home through our team. Cheering for Gyergyó Hockey Club is a unique experience of community and belonging.
